Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized a roadshow in the city to announce EXCON which witnessed the participation of industry leaders and stakeholders from the infrastructure and construction equipment sector.
EXCON, South Asia’s largest construction equipment and construction technology trade fair, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is scheduled to be held from 17 – 21 May 2022 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Bengaluru.
EXCON will spread over 3,00,000 square meters of display area and is expected to attract over 1000 exhibitors from India & abroad including countries like USA, UK, France, Germany, Italy, UAE, South Korea, Singapore, Turkey and Sri Lanka. The 5-day exhibition would attract over 40,000 business visitors from all over the world.
Mr Anand Sundaresan, Member, EXCON 2021 Steering Committee & Managing Director, Ammann India Private Limited said, “This is the eleventh edition of the EXCON and our theme this year is on “Building India for a New World: Competitiveness, Growth, Sustainability, Technology. EXCON will exemplify the role of smart technologies and innovation in India’s infrastructure development to achieve the vision of making India the global hub for Construction Equipment Manufacturing by 2030.
The Indian CE industry currently holds a prominent position in the global CE landscape. The government of India’s ambitious INR 111 Lakh Crore National Infrastructure Pipeline would augur well for the Indian Construction Equipment industry to become the 2nd largest CE market in the world, with a size of USD 25 billion by 2030, said Mr Sundaresan.
EXCON endeavours to build India’s infrastructure in an ecologically sustainable manner, enabling projects on Smart Cities, supporting Swachh Bharat programs, promoting skill development and positioning “Make In India” – as the National Agenda for achieving holistic growth in the infrastructure and related sectors.
Some of the highlights of EXCON include an exclusive focus on Alternate Fuels, Ai Pavilion, Finance Plaza, Skills, Women operating construction equipment and machinery, Equal opportunity awards for women, MSMEs, Digital Transformation sustainability & safety among others.

“The allocation of Rs.20,000 crore in the Union Budget for PM Gati Shakti – multi-modal connectivity for the States with focus on Roads, Railways, Airports, Ports and Waterways besides expansion of 25,000 kms of National Highway Network in 2022-23 would give tremendous push for infrastructure development in the country”, said Mr Kaustubh Prasad, Member, CII Delhi Panel on Real Estate, Urban Development and Infrastructure, and Managing Director, Sudyog Infra Projects Pvt.
